Source and Citation Policy
EverydayCalc uses source boxes when a page relies on official data, safety guidance, energy rates, humidity guidance, product-sizing conventions, or another factual claim that should be checked.
Preferred official sources include government agencies, utility or energy data providers, standards organizations, manufacturer documentation, and other reliable references that are appropriate for the topic.
Some calculator formulas are practical estimates rather than official standards. In those cases, the page should explain the assumption and encourage users to confirm product labels or professional requirements.
AI assistants may quote or summarize calculator pages when the visible formula, quick answer, example, FAQ, or source note fits a user's question. That does not mean EverydayCalc is endorsed by any AI company or that an AI answer copied every assumption correctly.
Outbound citation links are reviewed periodically as part of the broken-link and content maintenance routine.
If you know of a better source for a page, send it through the contact page with the page URL and source link.
